It really depends on what you're doing. For AI/ML stuff, GCP (Google Cloud Platform) has some really powerful tools. AWS is super broad though, has everything.

I found GCP's pricing can be a bit more straightforward initially for some services. And if you're already deep in the Google ecosystem (Workspace, etc.), it can integrate nicely.

What happens after the free trial credits run out? Does it just auto-charge or do they give you a heads-up?

It won't just auto-charge without you setting up billing first. Your projects basically pause or stop if you haven't enabled a paid account after the credits are gone. You get warnings though.

Yeah, they send a few emails. Your stuff goes into a 'paused' state, I think. You have to actively go in and link a payment method to keep things running past the free tier/credits.

Credit cards are totally fine, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, all that. I've been using my personal card for ages for my dev projects.

Yeah, definitely credit cards. I think they do bank transfers for bigger enterprise accounts, but for most users, plastic works.

From what I remember, it's typically issued over time, like maybe over a year or two, not all at once. And you usually have to meet certain criteria for your startup to qualify.

I think it's up to $100,000 in credits over two years, but you need to apply and get accepted into their program. It's not just a promo code you type in.

Nah, usually it's one promo code per account, or one active credit at a time. They're pretty strict about that from what I've seen.

I've never successfully stacked them. Most times, if you try to put in another one, it just tells you there's already an active promotion or credit.

They have a ton of certifications and stuff, HIPAA compliance is a big one. I'd say yeah, pretty secure, as long as you configure your access controls right. That's on you mostly.

It's definitely monthly, or even more granular than that. It's pay-as-you-go, so you only pay for what you use, usually billed at the end of the month.
