It really depends on what you're doing. For AI/ML stuff, GCP (Google Cloud Platform) has some really powerful tools. AWS is super broad though, has everything.

I found GCP's pricing can be a bit more straightforward initially for some services. And if you're already deep in the Google ecosystem (Workspace, etc.), it can integrate nicely.

What happens after the free trial credits run out? Does it just auto-charge or do they give you a heads-up?

It won't just auto-charge without you setting up billing first. Your projects basically pause or stop if you haven't enabled a paid account after the credits are gone. You get warnings though.

Yeah, they send a few emails. Your stuff goes into a 'paused' state, I think. You have to actively go in and link a payment method to keep things running past the free tier/credits.

From what I remember, it's typically issued over time, like maybe over a year or two, not all at once. And you usually have to meet certain criteria for your startup to qualify.

I think it's up to $100,000 in credits over two years, but you need to apply and get accepted into their program. It's not just a promo code you type in.
